I’m excited to be opening my latest series of works at Quiet Dog Gallery in central Nelson at 5.30pm tonight (25th October 2024). In Artist Goes Wild, I made the conscious decision to create artworks that celebrate nature and highlight how vital trees and plants are for our collective wellbeing. The artworks explore the tenacity of nature growing in concrete jungles; nature in small spaces; and the inherent beauty of natural decay. I hope to encourage visitors to improve their own green spaces, especially in urban areas, to help increase biodiversity, support wildlife and have a positive impact on climate change. 5% of every artwork sold will be donated to the national Trees That Count programme and my Artist Goes Wild tree registry will support tree planting projects in my home region of Tasman.
